I doubt McDs would have the likes of them.
Those jobs are honest ways to make a living AT THE START and were never intended to be ‘manned’ by people trying to raise a family of five.
When I was setting pins in a bowling alley at 14, it never occurred to me to make it a ‘career’ we just didn’t have enough derelicts in town to fill the position so for the grand sum of 6 bucks a night I would work double alley, double shift.
In 1953/4 30 bucks a week for a HS kid was good pay.
(BTW the ONLY thing automatic or semi automatic in ‘the pit’ was the foot treadle to hold the pegs up while the ‘operator’ set the pins on them..)
