Director Rob Reiners new movie Shock and Awe is a movie about journalists.
According to the movies description on Rotten Tomatoes, the film is based on the true events of Knight Ridder journalists who were the only ones who got it right in the lead-up to the 2003 Iraq War when they questioned the true nature of the Bush White Houses justification for the conflict.
Yet, you would be forgiven for not knowing that because this weekend practically no one bought tickets to see the film, which opened in limited release on July 13th.
According to Box Office Mojo, for the weekend of July 13-15th, Shock and Awe grossed a measly $41,000.

“Hey, honey! You wanna see a movie about journalists?”
A Few Good Men wasn’t bad...but I saw that before I was aware that he was involved. But something tells me that I’ll die never having seen “Shock And Awe”.
Make a movie for people to feel guilty?
Expect people to pay to see it?
Good luck with that business concept.
Shock And Awe = No One Saw
So... what do they claim was the real reason for the Iraq war? The article doesn’t say. I guess the journalist writing it lost interest too.
Theres Democrat spin........and then theres the truth.
National Putrid Radio (NPR) is doing it’s best to promote it.
Propaganda is not meant to make money, it is meant to indocrtinate, so we will probably see articles in the leghumping media about how wonderful it is. No need to see it.
Seriously folks this was a film that was only playing in 100 theaters and had zero marketing... it was always a pet project...
Honestly how many here ever heard of it before this article?
The Iraq war? George W Bush? Wasn’t that back in the 20th century, or something?
Garbage in, garbage out.
Propaganda film, nothing more.
It made the Marines look like they were retarded.
If a propaganda film falls in the forest and nobody hears it, is it still a propaganda film?
I haven’t even heard of that movie.
Although I will say, This Is Spinal Tap is a GREAT Rob Reiner movie.
Plenty of laughs every time a see it.
You admitted to seeing it.
That’s so sad. I’m sorry that you didn’t have better things to do, like watch paint dry.
For this one predicted I would find the word "meathead" by post #2.
You did not disappoint.
Like PT Barnum said, Theres an asshole born every minute.
