No I didn’t expect it to be about history, but a lot of ‘Hitler escaped’ conspiracy folks did.
Watching History Channel should be approached like watching a movie: suspend disbelief, don’t be too critical up front and enjoy the show. Otherwise you’ll not be able to enjoy effervescence of the superficial flaws for the fundamental ones.
Consider this bit of my own historical theory: George Lucas made Howard the Duck to prove and advance the technologies needed to make episodes 1 to 3 which were going to need more sophisticated aliens than Yoda or Ewoks, not to mention all the droids.
But Howard the Duck flopped so badly that he had to sell off part of his company and this basically is why the prequels took so long to make.
Had they been made sooner without the benefit of the computer animation they were made with Lucas would have been forced to make different choices as a director about the one alien, Jar Jar Binks, and it would have likely resulted in him being not half the annoying clown that he was. It may have even made it possible to pull off Jar Jar as the big bad using Drunken Fist style where Lucas had to abanon that and pull Dooku out of his arse.
So if Howard had been better received it’s possible a younger Lucas could have completed his series and Disney subsequently not gone all SJW on it.
