They look like an avocado and taste like an avocado. The only difference from the avocados you know? These ones are about the size of your head.
The Avozilla, as it has been dubbed, has arrived in Australia. Weighing an average of 1.2kg, the fruits are about four times the size of regular avocados and are expected to sell for $12 each.
Theres certainly a shock factor when you pick one up and theyre as big as your head, farmer Ian Groves told Guardian Australia.
Originating from South Africa, the Avozilla reached Britain in 2013. But the Groves family, which has grown tropical and exotic fruits in central Queensland since 1957, are the first to bring the variety to Australia. Groves said the fruit tasted similar to their regular-sized equivalent but were slightly softer to spread.

“Never eat anything bigger than your head.”
Heb! is gunna need a bigger quac bowl.
How big is the pit?
Too big for my pocket....
Clearly bigger, but the picture is a little deceptive since the person holding them has the hand holding the big avocado closer to the camera than the hand holding the regular one.
Might be cost effective for commercial guac makers. $5 a pound - maybe not for retail use.
Such is the way a pragmatist looks at life. (:
That's okay. He'll just be stuck with more of them.
Smarter voters will just use a half-skin of the Avozilla to serve artistically and/or rustically, saving cleanup.
Is it on Vacation ?
you can tell the giant avocado is real because it has the little sticker on it ...
Cannot recall that event?
But, there was time Maynard G. Krebs , mistakes 2cc for 4 cups of hormones to inject the chickens in a lab experiment.
Resulting in XXX-Large chickens.
