I agree.
There is no chance that the DoJ just blew off the Awan situation. There is MUCH MORE going on here than meets the eye ... the very least of which would include testimony against DWS and many others.
I suspect Awan was just a garden-variety criminal, probably a low-level sociopath, and the Congressional Black Caucus amongst other RATS got on board for under-the-table cash ... not giving a second thought to the espionage and blackmail implications, or to the good of the nation.
Ag some point, inevitably, more nefarious forces would have identified and fully exploited the value of a gateway into the information systems of the United States.
