I’d like to see the nature of the evidence before I comment. It just seems kind of odd that a 66 year-old guy would do this for the first time at his age.

That would be wise. There are plenty of overzealous cops and prosecuters working to just close cases.

And lots of cops and prosecutors could not care less if an accused actually committed the crime. I have personal experience with that.
