"So how do you feel now? Do you still wish another Republican had won the election?"

Yes, but no other Republican WOULD have won the election. Besides, Trump is not really a Republican- he's a patriot.

Fair enough. I understand that some people still feel that Trump does not pass their conservative litmus tests. You define him as a patriot - not a Republican, but I would posit that real patriotism is the bedrock of republicanism.

It's become obvious since he was elected, that Trump is executing his duties as CIC in a manner more consistent with conservative / republican ideals, than any president in our lifetimes.

I have little faith that any of the other Republican candidates in 2016 would have (or could have) come close to what Trump's accomplished in a scant eighteen months.

For the record, Trump was also not my first choice, but it didn't take long for him to convince me that he was the best choice.

I'm stuck with my screen name. I'd change it but I don't want to lose my sign up date.

You'll be happy to know that JimRob can change your screen name, while preserving your sign-up date and posting history.

Toss a little something in the Freepathon pot to help grease the administrative wheels ;-)

I’m a Wisconsin resident. I got to vote three times for Gov Walker. Nothing was like the feeling that Wisconsin went for Trump.

Now, the Bushes are toxic and a photo of Judge Kavanaugh with Karl Rove is setting off alarm bells. Good luck with the new screen name!

I know, it's crazy! When I signed up, I never dreamed I wouldn't think highly of Bush. I never cared for Papa Bush so there's that.

I started being frustrated when "W" wouldn't defend himself while in office.

Thank you!

My wife and I gave many hundreds to Cruz three weeks after he announced. He was going to be the strongest conservative in the race and he needed the early boost. We hadn’t done this before with other candidates.

Trump announced and my wife came to me saying she thought he would be a strong candidate. I said he’d be up there wth Cruz, but we’d need to see how it came together in the debates. In the first debate, I immediately understood his positioning tactics and reveled in his willingness to be put on the spot. His words were sincere, but he had to keep everyone off base to rearrange the chaos to his benefit. It was genius. Heads exploded every other day on the news and with our family and friends.

This continues today, and, as with continued positive progress in the primaries and the general election, he maneuvers to gain ground every full issue iteration. He uses everything to his advantage. It is driving liberals insane, but he has made everyone who is his enemy underestimate him and they honestly believe he is a valid, stupid, Forrest Gump who lucks into every additional achievement. It is completely beautiful. This, coupled with lobbing or taking advantage of distractions, always moves his flag forward. Note that “his” flag is really “our” flag.

Donald Trump is literally the greatest politician the US has had since Reagan, and maybe for some time before him.

There are 107,500 key people who made a different future than all the pollsters said was even possible. I would love to personally thank every one of them.

When “Dubya” was elected I was working with a gal, she was almost in tears. I asked her what was wrong. “Wrong!? Bush won!!”

“Oh I know. I don’t care for him much either. He’s not conservative enough.” The look on her face! Still far better than the alternative, and he did okay with some things.

I feel this good about voting for Donald J. Trump as I did when I voted for the first time to re-elect Ronald Reagan in 1984.

He did but now he's entirely too chummy with the Clintons, knowing what they're like.

I had a similar experience.

My GF’s Sister was devastated and had cut out the cover of some British rag and stuck it on her frig, it said, “How can 64,000,000 people be so wrong?”

I just asked her “How can a dozen editors be so Stupid?”

Would have like to see another “R” win it.

Really? Who did you want to win?

“I started being frustrated when “W” wouldn’t defend himself while in office.”

It was absolutely bizarre at the time. Now it makes sense almost, considering the dynasty’s public remarks lately I guess.

My adult working life has been book-ended by Reagan and Trump. Sandwiched in between has been a combination of either NWO globalists and left wing narcissistic nut job presidents.

A guy at work is a big Eagles fan - got all bent out of shape with the White House visit flap a few months ago. I tried to tell him it was the Eagles’ own fault, but...

A) I like the guy B) we were at work so....

I left it at that.

At least you saw through Bush and Romney. I am ashamed to say I didn’t and proudly cast my votes for both of them.

I am angry more at myself than at them for being such a dope and so easily taken in.
