The escapee ran into that dense brush but we can’t see in there. Quick! Run the bulldozer through that dense brush so we can see where he went!

Sounds like classic indifference to human life.

Brush so dense you cannot see a couple of feet. Brush so dense you likely have to crawl, and cannot stand up, or at least not quickly.

No evidence the suspect was armed or a danger to the officers.

We know the suspect is in that extremely thick brush (maybe with FLIR or infrared sensors).

Go flatten that brush where we think he is, knowing the bull dozer operators cannot see him themselves. Knowing that the suspects movements are tightly constrained.

Nasty stuff.

Running from the game wardens is generally not considered a death sentence.

I agree with your post.

What if he were suspected of selling 30 round magazines in NJ Would the force have been justified?

Lessee now....you’re running from the law, hiding in thick brush; suddenly there’s the rumble of a diesel engine and the ground beneath you starts to shake. The diesel roar grows louder, the ground shakes even more, and you do.....

Nothing.

Anyway, the LEOs could be investigated for sending in the bulldozer. Guess they assumed the perp would react instinctively and flee from the advancing monster.
