They don’t do the high speed Netflix and Hulu thing, now all they will have is the library or purchase movies.

Too bad. Perhaps they can reach out to others and start a sharing club, of old DVDs or tapes. Similar to people trading or sharing books. Side note: I no longer share DVDs, some people don't reciprocate or return them.
