I love White Nights. I still watch it every few years or so. It was kind of 80s and cheesy, but Mikhail Baryshnikov... oh my Lord, we should clone him before it’s too late.
He was spectacular. So precise, like a Platonic ideal. I haven’t seen it in a while; I wonder if it’s on Netflix. If not, there’s always the public library.
That scene where he’s dancing with Gregory... I’m sorry but it’s no contest. The amount of muscular control he had was evident in every move. I watch him like I’m hypnotized.
A fantastic tap dancer, most known (to me anyway) for his role in a wonderful movie “White Knights”, with Mikael Barishnokov.
There’s a scene where the two of them do a dance-off which is unbelievable.
