Santorum was merely making an observation, which is probably true. His statements in the article are the same as what many FReepers have been saying. To put him in the same category with George Will and others is to badly misunderstand who Santorum is.
Santorum thinks that it is a good pick. He just doesn’t think that it is the best pick. Most FReepers would probably agree with him on that.

Rick is basically right. I have serious doubts too. But with a 51-49 Senate and the Rino sisters making threats l doubt we could confirm anyone further right. If we are lucky he’ll be a little more conservative then Kennedy if we’re not he will be Souter 2.0.
