Well that's the thing some people who have forgotten (or never learned because it was before their time) which is important.

Trump was (and is) a Democrat at heart.

But he is not a communist, and communists is what the Democrat Party are now. Truman was from the traditional wing of The Democrat Party, bringing in voters who wouldn't support Roosevelt.

During the cold war we didn't fight “The Russians.” We fought global socialism, a term which was used interchangeably with communism.
Some of the global socialists were Soviet, Some were Chinese, Some were Cuban, Some were Korean, Some were Brazilian, or perhaps east German some were Vietnamese or Nicaraguan, or little groups in the Philippines.
