Stupid on its face.
Not if the service you're looking for is to have the baddest 'service' animal on the planet, one that can and does go from docile and loving to biting the face off some young or elderly person...
I 'get' that people love their pits, but from what I've read on the subject, they are many, MANY times more likely to be involved in biting incidents than any other breed.
And from personal experience, I had a friend growing up whose pit bull lunged at me while my friend had him tightly controlled on a leash. Left a pretty good claw mark across my stomach, he did.
As the article showed one owner of the “service pit bull” used his the harrass and attack people. He was gaming the system and that should not be allowed.
