I’d have preferred Don Willett, but of the three or four top contenders, I think this guy was the way to go. We need some more conservative Protestants next go round, though. The court is starting to look like an Opus Dei meeting.

Funny story. Two years ago our family was on vacation in Colorado. Just so happened there was a judicial conference and Don Willett was staying at our hotel. We met him and his family in the hotel pool had a nice conversation about the merits of getting a law degree and other niceties. I would have preferred him as well.
