I don’t think minimum wage has anything to do with their lack of a soul. They would be the same at $50 an hour.
Most aids in these places make next to nothing in wages. When you pay next to nothing, you get a much higher percentage of losers.
My father was in home-hospice with us for 2 1/2 years. The CNA's who came to our house to care for him were very low wage, but every one of them was honest and at least adequate, and some of them were outstanding.
The best were good-hearted women who respectful and affectionate with him as if he were their own father.
