I agree that this was a tremendous feat, and kudos to Travis, but the History Channel built a THREE-HOUR special around an event that could have been covered in one hour or less.

There was way too much build-up, background, trivia, commentary and chatter. I started watching at 8 and finally had to turn it off at 9:30, after watching only one actual (short) jump.

I guess they wanted to sell a lot of advertising.

They also did a three hour piece on Evel Knievel on the same day.

It’s better than it used to be. The Evel specials were hours long too.

Hell, I remember the entire day spent with Dick Clark before the release of Pac-Man.

Yes. I agree. 3 hour show to see three jumps. I figured out the trick - only watch the last 5-10 minutes of each hour. Travis was quite disciplined. Glad it all went well for him.
