(Full Title) Kelsey Grammer Stands Up For Life, Says Reproductive Rights Is a ‘Dishonest’ Name for Abortion

We don’t see much common sense coming from Hollywood these days. It’s a place where conservatives have basically been told they aren’t welcome.

However, every once in awhile we see conservatives who aren’t afraid to stand up for what’s right.

Kelsey Grammar is one of those conservatives and he recently sat down for an interview that ended up being a strong defense of the pro-life movement.

Grammer told the Times he has “as much respect for women and women’s issues as possible,” but said that women’s rights are not what is at stake with abortion.

It “gets a bit dishonest to call something reproductive rights when you clearly have a choice well before a baby is conceived,” Grammer noted, which is when reproduction actually happens.

“If someone has to die as a result of rape, then we should kill the rapist – not the unborn child,” he said. “It’s a dicey area, but if you have respect for life, and respect for choice, then you can’t take life away from an infant.”

“Little makes me angry, but injustice does,” he said.

Gotta love it.

It’s not every day you see an actor risk his career with a statement like that.

He’s made a ton of money and likely isn’t worried about losing any jobs. But still. Props.

Don’t forget.

The majority of Americans believe in restrictions to abortion.

From Newsmax:

According to the poll, 76-percent back significant restrictions, including making abortions available only during the first three months of pregnancy, or in the case of rape, incest, or the mother’s life being endangered.

Other results from the survey:

92 percent of Republicans want “significant restrictions.”

78 percent of Independents.

61 percent of Democrats.

60 percent of voters who identify as pro-choice.

63 percent of Americans support a ban on abortions after 20 weeks.

56 percent believe abortion is morally wrong, while 41 percent consider it morally acceptable.

64 percent believe it’s morally wrong in the case of unborn children with genetic issues such as Down syndrome, while 26 percent consider that morally acceptable.

"...many of us on some level feel that the mother deserves say in what happens to her body."

Yes, indeed. I would amend that to,

"ALL of us..."

I'd even say

"Choice comes before Life!!!"

---now hear me out --- because the choice has to happen before the life begins. "Choice" is a pre-conception right.

As my old neighbor on George Avenue in DC used to say,

"Chooz B4 U skrooz."

`

Besides, once you're pregnant, it is impossible to choose not to have a baby. The baby is there. Your only possible "choice" at that point, is to have a live baby or a dead one. And to get your baby dead, you've got to kill it in cold blood.

This is a choice no person on earth has the right to make. That is murder. That is forbidden: an exceptionless norm.

True story: I tried that argument with a young abortion-minded woman ("Suppose your mother had aborted you") and to my amazement, she professed to be OK with that. She said that then her mother might have been happier, and freer, and she (the girl herself) would have been spared from all the troubles she had.

I'm not saying she's typical. She did have significant problems. But it made me think that for such as these, they're either (1)so damaged that they have no compassionate empathy, no imagination of how good life could be, or (2)they actually feel that abortion would be a kind of proxy suicide. It's as if they'd commit suicide, but they don't have the nerve, so they'll do the "next best thing" and destroy the child within them.

They actually don't value their own lives very much.

I thought it would be -- um, interesting --- at that point to pull a gun out of my vest, shoot once through the ceiling to prove that it was loaded, point it straight at her staring eyes, and say "Oh, really?"--- and see how she would react.

Would she discover that she really did want to go on living, after all?

Even better, Nine Minute Version of the above.

That was a song "I'm a choice not a child" I found it back in the nineties when the internet worked. Now the internet surch return ads to sell what is free.

Steve Barger;

I'm a choice, not a child
I'm a choice, not a child
Mommy you hurt me
Mommy you hurt me so bad!

I am a part of you
yet I am different
I was becoming
but I never became
Just a blob of protoplazam inside you
Go ahead and do it
and don't feel no shame
No need for shame

cause
I'm a choice, not a child
I'm a choice, not a child
Mommy you hurt me
Mommy you hurt me so bad!

As the scapel pierces me
I forgive you mommy
I know I'll never see your face
And I'm so sorry that
you never wanted me
just cut me out
there's no disgrace
there's no disgrace

cause
I'm a choice, not a child
I'm a choice, not a child
Mommy you hurt me
Mommy you hurt me so bad!

cause
I'm a choice, not a child
I'm a choice, not a child
Mommy you hurt me
Mommy you hurt me so bad!
so bad
so bad
