They can try, but the American people will not stand for anything like that without evidence.

Mueller is still conferring with Hillary and Obama to get their collusion story straight…even though there is NO LAW against collusion!

Based on the history of Mueller’s attempts to get Manafort, suspect that having another swing at Manafort was Mueller primary, and perhaps only, interest in being Special Counsel. The Russian Collusion myth developed dynamically, morphing into what it has become, and Mueller jumped on board opportunistically. Otherwise I would think the Collusion Story was created as a vehicle to puruse Manafort, not the other way around.

Sessions has taken a hands off approach to his job period. Why did he let Lois Lerner off the hook? Clapper? the Awans? Jeff is working for the other team, plain and simple.

Is that you, Rod Rosenstein?

I’m going with your second question.

" Jeff is working for the other team, plain and simple."

If the November elections go Trump's way, particularly
the Senate, I think we'll see Jeff Sessions gone by the end
of the year. Trump is waiting for a larger Senate majority.

I’ll extend your assumption a bit. Mueller’s hiring of more attorney’s is an indication (as you said) that he’s getting ready to bring cases to court in multiple jurisdictions. Could also mean he’s got nothing else. That he’s wrapping things up and getting ready to write his final report. He will no doubt re-state the Trump-Russia collusion allegations, present some heavily redacted ‘evidence’, declare the case ‘unproved’, and then ride off into his political sunset years.

The Media, Rod Rosenstein & Mueller’s investigators keep hiding behind the charactarization of the investigation as “counter-intelligence” rather than legal. In the past C-I investigations seldom see the inside of a courtroom. Evidence is seldom made public in it’s specifics.

It’s a regulation. Meaning it’s a minor law punishable by a fine or less than a year in jail. If you’ll pardon the pun, it’s Mueller who is making a federal case out of this.

Well, he’s not in prison. He’s in jail. There is a difference. And, if I’m him, I think I’d rather be in solitary than general population. In solitary he’s protected. Not much can happen to him there. He goes into a pod and Lord knows what happens to him there. However.........

The fact that he’s even there is what is the disgrace. He did nothing wrong. I’m just hoping that if the midterms go well for us and the President, and he gets some support, then he can start cleaning house with some of these judges, like the one that put Manafort in jail for an alleged violation of his bond. I’m wondering what the case law says about all of this or have all those cases been expunged from FindLaw.com.

This is a travesty of epic proportions. And just think, this is all happening with President Trump. Can you imagine what it would look like if she won. This country would have been 3rd world within 6 months.

I can only hope and pray that Manafort struts out of that courtroom a free man and goes after all of them, in any way he can. Interestingly, judicial immunity is something that judges gave themselves. They can be impeached, but they cant be held criminally or civilly for their decisions.

We should be working on a “Getting out Party” with conservative Brits. The Manafort-Tommy Robinson shindig would be the event of the calendar year.

It will be presented as a October surprise and will be fake. It will get 24/7 coverage by the propagandist media.

How much more damage will he have caused by then? I hope Trump fires him in a humiliating way.

You took the words out of my mouth. If I was in a similar situation, I'd request solitary as opposed to being put into the general population. I've lived a pretty easy-going life and my last fist fight was in grade school. The most trouble with the law I ever got into during my 50+ years is a speeding ticket. I'm still in relatively good shape for my age but I don't reckon I'd do well being thrown into the mix with violent offenders. Some people just aren't cut out for the jailhouse and I'm one of them. In my case, it would be like throwing a gentle golden retriever into a pen filled with wolves. I would actually prefer to be in solitary where I don't have to worry about having a shiv shoved into my back by some gang-bangers who resent my charmed life.

I think Manafort's case is similar. He's no doubt a tough guy in the corporate boardroom or in the rough and tumble world of politics. But I don't think he's streetwise enough to do well with the general population of a jail or prison. If he's a criminal (and it has yet to be proven), he's a white collar criminal, not a street thug. He'll get eaten alive in the general population.

The reason Manafort is in jail in the first place is because he's suspected of witness tampering or reaching out to potential witnesses in his case. Otherwise, he'd still be home awaiting trial. All of this will need to be proven in time of course. I don't know enough to declare him innocent nor do I know enough to deem him guilty. That's what trials are for and this will come out in time. I do know that Trump gave him the bum's rush in August of 2016 when it came out that he might have had illicit foreign dealings and hid income (well before the Trump campaign). This, as we know, made way for Kellyanne Conway and Steve Bannon to take over the campaign so in retrospect, this worked out pretty well with regard to Trump getting elected.

But if Mueller cannot prove any criminal acts, he'll have a lot of explaining to do and Manafort will need to be made whole for what he is currently going through.

The Democrats are experts at character assassination and the lame street media helps them do that.

I do NOT think a defense can be mounted saying Manafort is no dirtier than Podesta. That’s a kindergarten approach. It is the same “No Jaywalking” sign for both of them.

True. But there’s lots of folks saying that what he allegedly did is/was no different than what anyone else in that down does/did. Hell, the clinton’s were allowed to amend their foundations taxes after they were found to be deliberately hiding money. And, if I’m not mistaken these charges arise from things that happened years ago. Obviously, all done to get him to flip on the President, but at some point the fact that everybody does it, has to count for something. Could be why Manafort is willing to go to trial. He may have a bomb hidden somewhere.
