.45 colt can be loaded from 300 ftlbs to 600. Both loads will drop an out of control horse. Great round. Very cool.
Sometimes you need knockdown capability. The .45 will do it for a lot of situations. I had a nice one but misplaced it in a divorce along with a lot of other things. Probably still in a box moldering away in one of her sheds.
