Funny that security screenings should be mentioned.My personal attitude is that every Chinese/Hong Kong/Macau citizen in the US is a spy...either economic or military.

Some may not be willing spies.Some may be approached by Chinese officials and told "get us the info we want...we know where your parents/grandparents live".

A relative who retired from the Pentagon intelligence
says the exact same thing.

They are counseled by the Govt when they leave and given
a choice and are updated regularly .
All the US University systems are neck deep in Chinese spies .
