After the agonising nature of their last-16 defeat by Belgium, Japan's World Cup squad and their thousands of fans would have been forgiven for leaving the Rostov Arena as swiftly as possible.
A number of Japan players were in tears after being knocked out of the tournament when a late, late goal from Nacer Chadli sealed a 3-2 comeback victory for Belgium.
But, as revealed by FIFA general coordinator Priscilla Janssens on Twitter, Japan's squad went to extra lengths to thank their hosts in Russia as they bowed out.

It doesn’t matter whether you win or lose
It’s how you played the game.
Funny. I haven’t heard that in many years.
When I was younger I lived in London for13 months. I would occasionally help out at a B & B that would gets lots of Japanese young tourists. Their rooms would be immaculate & they would always leave a tip & a tiny origami animal on the pillow. Very sweet people.
Japanese school kids clean there own classrooms and their school bathrooms.
They are the same crude, lazy people who leave their shopping cart wherever. And yes it’s getting worse.
Truth
It was never be reported that after a Freep, the place our protestors used had less trash than when we got there. The adjoining leftists protest sites always looked like they were starting a landfill.
“Not in Tokyo but in the Southern part of Japan for sure. They say Tokyo has more crime form immigrants. Southern Japan none.”
True, about the ONLY CRIME they have is from Immigrants. Japan is a CASE STUDY of a single culture willing understanding immigration from Third World countries, and willing to PROTECT ITSELF at all costs, even though it means a steep population crash. It’s hard to find ANYONE who’s visited that country and came away saying anything bad about them. Just incredible.
I also think about the MESSAGE this sends to Russia. I doubt they seriously considered the international relations aspect of their behavior, because, for them, it is EXPECTED no matter where they go, so it’s old hat, but Russia will certainly APPRECIATE them and will probably look more favorably towards them regarding the thorny issues of the Kuril Islands and China.
I also doubt the Japanese government even considered asking them to behave that way, in fact their reaction is probably something like ‘Well, what special about their behavior?”, for them it’s all in a day’s work.
