San Francisco is starting to lose tourism money over the out of control problems within the city. I read another article today that a 40 million dollar convention that has been held there every 4 years is going elsewhere due to safety and sanitation concerns.
Ultimately, this could be the way out of the madness. Geography limits the mobility of the population, San Francisco's "suburbs" are other cities with similar problems.
If the city economy tanks, a population with nowhere to go will have to face the fact that the collectivist polices simply do not work. Hopefully there is a Giuliani type who can grab the bull by the horns and restore sanity to the city government. The current crop of city leaders makes David Dinkins look competent.
