I hope this ends in happiness and not one of those lord of the flies or cannibalism story.
Dreadful——and what on earth would make a coach take kids to a known dangerous place like this.

Oxygen tanks?
Are they using rebreathers or does the author not SCUBA knowledgeable?
Caves + Water + Inexperience = Death
Eight days ago? I hope their "sheltering" and that they carried some food. I wonder how long this adventure was supposed to last.
Fingers crossed
Reading the entire article it’s apparent some unbelievably bad judgment and recklessness went into this misadventure. Well, unless they were all just swallowed up by some unseen sinkhole outside the cave system. Maybe a miracle will occur.
Been there. You couldn’t get me into those caves with a cattle prod. Prayers up for all concerned.
All in the name of “adventure.” Otherwise seemingly intelligent people will jump off a 250 foot bridge tethered only to bungee strap rigged up by some third world pot smoking illiterate or wander into an uncharted cave with a local “tour guide.”
And, if it isn’t enough to risk ones own life, how about the rescuers?
Usually, stories involving children and Thailand involve buggery.
What could possibly go wrong?
whose idea was this?
ALIVE!
Mrs. Flash saw on the Thai news that the soccer team has been found, and the initial report is that all are alive, but have yet to be removed from the cave which will take some time.
She further tells me that the report stated that all unnecessary people (spectators and family?) have been removed and ambulances have been massed to deal with the recovered kids and their coach when they are removed from the cave.
