“...decimated by as much as 95 percent.” Somebody doesn’t know the definition of decimated.
My suburban gardens used to be absolutely filled with bees. You could hear a pretty good hum outdoors. Not many today. The loss of pollinators is serious and shouldn’t be taken lightly.
I know a bee guy who is so good that the USDA uses his bees to start colonies.
He said his bees are doing very well this year.
But, to paraphrase, Galileo, "Still, it flies."
Another factor in their extinction is perfect lawns. Perfect lawns have no flowering weeds. Weeds are their natural for source.
We got bees here in Cherryville PA. Can’t go for more than 10 minutes in my garden without seeing at least one.
I’m talking honey bees, yellow jackets, carpenter bees, etc.
Corner the market on bumble bee fossils.
Say what you want about Public Enemy, but Flavor Flav sure could rock the clock.
I’ve got two large gardens, many veggies and for the last ten years bees have swarmed all over my blossoms, this year I have seen maybe two bees, at most.
It really puzzles me, and I’m sad to see them all disappear.
