HOUSTON — A sergeant with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office in Texas is undergoing treatment Tuesday after touching a flyer contaminated with fentanyl.

The flyer was found on the windshield of her patrol car around 2 p.m. in the 600 block of Lockwood Drive, according to officials. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said she knew something was wrong when she started feeling light-headed.

“We feel she’s going to survive this, (but) there’s still additional testing that needs to be done,” Gonzalez said. “Hopefully she caught this quickly, because we know from our experience with fentanyl that it can be very deadly.”

While it’s not certain that the symptoms were caused by the flyers she found on the windshield, Gonzalez noted that the paper she touched later tested positive for fentanyl.

The sheriff’s office said multiple flyers were left on the windshields of other deputies’ cars. They also tested positive for fentanyl.

Authorities are warning citizens to not touch the flyers if they come across them.

Figures Lefty nuts would get around to this. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the whackadoodle Left didn’t use fentanyl to try to kill/hurt members of the Trump administration. Nothing is beyond them now. They are truly insane.

Q. How is fentanyl being sold and used?

A. The ways in which fentanyl is being abused and the different compounds and formulations in which it is found are constantly evolving, posing new threats to those that use them illicitly.
In the past fentanyl was typically mixed with other opioids, such as heroin, but that is not always the case today. Fentanyl can also be injected, snorted/sniffed, smoked, taken orally by pill or tablet, or spiked onto blotter paper.

Illicitly produced fentanyl is sold alone or in combination with heroin and other substances and has been pressed into pills, and used to mimic pharmaceutical drugs such as oxycodone.

What are some common street names for fentanyl?

Apache, China Girl, China Town, Dance Fever, Friend, Goodfellas, Great Bear, He-Man, Jackpot, King Ivory, Murder 8, and Tango & Cash.

There is a website at the end of the flyer.... doesn’t make them the guilty party, but I sure as heck hope the police are contacting them.

Doesn’t sound like she was close to death and if identified, fairly easy to treat.

Oh, brother. Nobody is going to die from touching fentanyl residue on a piece of paper. People wear fentanyl patches for pain management.

Who would waste money on such a thing? Don’t they know there’s a fentanyl shortage?!

Undergoing treatment? Did she stop breathing? Just wash your hands and be done with it.

The best friend of my friend’s son died from smoking fentanyl laced marijuana. He was a very young man who smoked “occasionally”.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equianalgesic#Opioid_equivalency_table

There are insanely powerful and dangerous drugs, that are also relatively cheap to produce, that are much stronger than is Fentanyl. The above link shows a table of them, with pure, oral morphine being the standard value of 1.

Some of these drugs can kill with *micrograms*, think LSD dosages. And smugglers have been busted with *kilograms*.

It is not unreasonable, since many of these drugs are as deadly as nerve agent or powdered plutonium, that they should be classified as, and treated as dangerous as, other weapons of mass destruction.

They would make unparalleled terrorist weapons.

Yes, it is THAT toxic. Sufficiently concentrated, just grabbing a paper soaked with it can KILL you. Especially if you have certain genetic markers in your DNA. So I have read.
