Unfortunately the Last Jedi angered the fan base, so backlash was SOLO paid the price for it....

Kennedy should be fired for “The Last Jedi” deservedly so....

I've read a lot of people commenting that their plot twist at the end utterly wrecks the "Suspension of Disbelief" of all the previous stories. Most people comment along the lines of:

"You mean they could have just used a small hyperspace ship to destroy the Death Star? You mean a single HyperSpace capable X-wing could have destroyed the Death Star? "

If a hyperspace capable ship is able to blow apart massive star ships, they they would build small ones and call them "hyperspace torpedoes".
