Man, I could even it thew or “to” into the truncated message! I’m exhausted!
We’ve read so many stories lately of how foreigners thinknwe’re. shallow or hate America!!!
There is CHEESE!!!
At last! The title:
‘Being able to buy whatever you want!’ Foreigners reveal the most alluring things about America, from being able to get ‘melted cheese on any food’ to the ‘freedom you can enjoy’
Reddit asked it’s non-American users to write what’s appealing about the US
People responded about how citizens could ask for melted cheese on any food
Another popular response was the number of choices offered in grocery stores
Grocery stores was something that amazed Soviet and Eastern Bloc citizens when they came here. I remember years ago reading about Soviet tourist going to grocery stores just to walk around. Ditto for malls and apartment stores.
who cares what those cheesy haters think!
I tried looking for a Brit choice of ‘Wheet a Bix” in LA. I had to troll massive aisles of American cereal ... which I don’t eat.
My dogs appreciate a special cheese treat!
Some grocery stores dedicate an entire aisle to dog and cat food!
Because some people have no family and treat them like children.
Yes. Those are *not* good reasons to move to the U.S.A. Those who fought our American Revolution were here to escape religious tyranny in Europe. They had a good reason for coming here.
The most stunning aisle iMO are the soft drink ones.
... well things have eased up. I allow lots of laughter and fun!
If they like it so much why don't they have the courage to turn their country into a replica of the United States rather than coming here and turning the United States into a replica of theirs?
I remember a woman I met back in the
mid 80’s from the USSR who was on a visit...we took her to a mall in Middletown NY *smiles*...just driving there was an experience for her, her head was on a swivel.... we passed a car dealership, she couldn’t get over all the colors.*huge smiles from her*...Then we arrived at the mall ...specifically remember tears (joy)when she was able to select the different size jeans she had to bring home. (8 pairs for others).
I worked with this English guy in Hong Kong years ago. Whenever we we’re ordering lunch he would always, sarcastically, ask me if I wanted melted cheese on that.
To be fair, the reply was almost always yes or of course.
When I read this I thought "it must be a Frog", and it was!
I live in the only state named after a French king and yes you can buy alcohol almost anywhere it seems.
We had a cousin come from Poland (around the glasnost era), and he would walk around the ShopRite just to gawk.
The chip aisle is the most surprising.
I guess you have to have your priorities in order.
