If they were hacking government systems, stealing government property, defrauding the government, why do charges need to be pressed by this Congresswoman?

Wouldn't the DOJ have jurisdiction over this? Conduct an investigation and bring it to a Grand Jury and prosecute? It would seem that, by allowing all the responsibility for the matter to rest on this corrupt member of Congress, she's able to cover up her own, and many others, crimes.

Someone tell Sessions she was smoking a joint while hacking. That will get Magoo going.

It doesn’t matter whether or not “the Dems” press charges. It’s whether the USDOJ presses charges. And since Rosenstein is the de facto head of the DOJ, it’s doubtful if they will.

CYA. The Democrat House members do not WANT the DOJ snooping around in this, as it may very well lead to revealing a much deeper layer of muck in the Swamp than anyone now readily accepts. This could go to truly treasonous activities, revealing the internal workings of transfer of intelligence to foreign entities, and leaking of highly sensitive matters to persons who have no right to know.

And who knows, it may just lead right back to the Obama Regime itself.

These matters must be treated - delicately.

I myself think none, zero of this true; that an indictment would ultimately target somebody’s chief of staff. That ain’t no big deal, she’d be exactly the kind of person the DNC or the Dems would throw under the bus. The theft of computer gear or cel phones is likewise a nothingburger, the investigation would cost 20x the cost of the stolen gear. (That of course would be no barrier)

This investigation is never going to happen because the national security implications and the implications for the Democrat party itself are simply too vast and profound; any potential investigators would be the next Strzoks and McCabes. They would simply fake any such investigation and deliberately find nothing. They would never investigate with any rigor. Nobody knows (and probably never will) just how far and deep this goes, but if 40 or so DNC congresspeople were indicted for espionage and failure to report blackmail, which is what this is really about, the Democrat party would simply implode. This is only one small notch below the whole anti-Trump surveillance-and-smear effort and is probably one of the the top ten most egregious espionage cases in US history.
