I picked up a new Ultra Lite 26 in November. Drag it with my Tundra. Fantastic trailer.
27,28 or 32 land yacht.
You sure about a F 150? Just sayin, a 250 would breathe easier.
I have both and have only fried a tranny in the 150.
I know that trailer is “lite”, but it still displaces air.
Your call.
The new F-150s are rated to tow ~12000lb and have that new 10-speed trans with a cooler. Not that I would want to tow a trailer that weighs twice what the truck does. But you should easily be able to pull up to 8000lbs or more. A F-250 is a better truck, but generally $10k more and a bit bulky as an everyday driver. Some of us can only afford as single vehicle that pulls double duty as personal use and occasionally to pull a trailer for vacations. Personally, I think the 3.5L ecoboost F-150 with the max tow package is a good choice. But then again, I own one so I may be biased.
I get it and sounds like you have researched this well.
My 2000 F 150 is getting a little long in the tooth (approaching 300K) and it wouldn’t tow what yours would. It gets a little weavy just towing a big boat.
10 speed trannies scare me but then so did EFI and breakerless points. To this day I will not consider a turbo. I have a big family and being the only one that knows how to open the hood, all repair responsibility falls to me, so I see things through a service lens.
I’m lucky enough to have a 250 to pull as needed. Not pretty, but it works.
Best of luck on your plans and travels. Whatever the case IMO you will be better off than the OP, if he goes w the latest greatest foreign manufacturer mix. Most garages are just going stare at the front and say “uh, “MAN”??”

I know exactly what you are saying. I traded in a My 2001 4x4 F-150 with the Triton V8 standard. It was a great Truck for the most part. But it was a dog when hauling or on the interstate. I now have a 2017 4x4, it’s like 470 torque and 380 hp out of a six cylinder. By far the fastest truck I have ever driven and pulls of the line like a mule. The only negative is even though it says Ecoboost, it really is Eco or Boost. Great gas mileage at 55 with no load. But put you foot into it, or hauling and the mileage drops exponentially.
