It’s unbelievably beautiful! Don’t be afraid of a few (million) bugs. LOL

Long sleeves, pants and boots are definitely a requirement. If your going to be in the bush, Permethrin treatments are worthwhile. Most people won’t encounter swarms like I saw. With winds, rain and just the sheer random occurrence, I’d really not worry.

It’s a great experience. Worth every inconvenience and mild danger. Almost any excursion will be wonderful and safe, unless you head out in the bush on your own. Even then, the greatest danger comes from staying up too late and making poor decisions.

I wouldn’t have missed it for the world. There is no other place where you can see wildlife so abundant. The mountains and rivers teem with life. You can go fishing on a lake and never see another person; you can watch whales; see a bore-tide; shoot a moose, bear or caribou (camera or gun if you have the $$) ; travel the Alcan until you’re bored of majestic mountains; pan for gold; see birds that aren’t anywhere else; pick a cabbage larger than a child; catch a halibut that will feed you for a year; and tons else.
