Why would the young be mad at those older?

We baby boomer types, paid sharply higher social security taxes all these years, in order to fund social security payments in our futures. We also had financial ups and downs and economic uncertainty, paid what at the time were high prices for housing, etc.

And generations before mine had to go fight in a war, in which they weren’t certain they would come home.

Every generation has had ups and downs is the point. Do today’s young people really have it so much worse? It depends on the criteria you want to talk about.

Among other things, many of today’s young adults grew up in homes which are luxurious compared to where their parents and grandparents grew up. Relatively few of today’s young have hard dangerous physical labor type jobs.

We could all say a lot about this . I’ll leave it at that.

Yes you certainly could :-).

On a side note, as a Gen-Xer, I am now supposed to be programmed to hate Baby Boomers because of idiots that write articles like this ... I’m sure the Millenials will hate me and the Gen-Z will hate Millenials, but I guess we are all supposed to hate Boomers since Donald Trump was elected only by old white guys like yourself :-) .

I guess the media now wants to divide us by age much like they’ve divided us by skin color and heritage ... amazing.

I think all generations would be better off if we’d all realize that the media are a bunch of blithering idiots and should be ignored. Moreover, since the media pretty much owns the Democratic Party, that kills two birds with one stone :-).

Not true. The baby boomer paid higher SS taxes to fund the “greatest generation’s” SS benefits since it is a pay as you go system. The greatest generation received far more than they paid in but that isn’t sustainable for the baby boom generation’s benefits. This is one area where the greatest generation wasn’t really all that great.
