The day after the November 2016 election, liberal pundits re-assured Democrats that, while they may feel miserable at the moment, that melancholy was temporary. Research has consistently shown that, following an unwelcome shock, most people rapidly return to their baseline level of happiness.
Confirming that truism, in 2012, disappointed Mitt Romney voters bounced back quite quickly. But in this realm, as in so many others, it turns out the Donald Trump era is different.
A new study reports Americans who voted for Hillary Clinton suffered a substantial dip in happiness that persisted for at least six months after the election.
(snip)
Not surprisingly, self-reported happiness plunged among Clinton supporters the week of the election. But the scale of the decline was, to use a Trumpian term, "yuge."
Lench and her colleagues note that, in a famous 1978 study, "people who had become quadriplegic within the last year reported lower happiness than controls and lottery winners by a difference of about 17 percent on their scale."
In comparison, "Clinton supporters reported about a 24 percent decrease in happiness during the week after the election on the scale in the present investigation."
For them, losing to Trump was the equivalent of losing use of their arms and legsand then some.

As our President spoke tonight, we couldn’t help but reminisce about the emotion and experiences felt election night.
An evening we will NEVER forget. :) The excitement so extreme it took forever to fall asleep. But when sleep eventually came, slept in peaceful slumber not known in such a long time.
Still pinching myself: yes, we saw the tide turn. We are awake and this is more than a dream. It is real.
They deserve to suffer, considering what they wanted to inflict on the country.
I am ready for Bolshekrats to leave the country. They will much happier in a country more suited to their tastes. I, on the other hand, have not found a country with a Second Amendment, that, I can go to. So, get the f#ck out!
Not tired of WINNING yet!
I wonder how it compares to getting a good, hard kick to the nuts, 'cause that's what happened to 'em.

These self-loathing progs should end their anguish .

To Paraphrase someone.....Be careful when your position fails...Your whole life doesn’t fails with it...
(You can be wrong sometimes..but you have to admit it....)
Look at how infantile and pathetic they were in losing. Look how bitter, angry, delusional and psychotic they are post election. How scary is it to think what a Clinton administration and her followers would impact this nation being so childish and hardcore left?
President Trump then offered her 5 cents on the dollar for the fireworks. Never got an answer back. I wonder what happened to them.
BA
The HRC voters and the party have not done the whole E.K.Ross 5 stages of grief and they cannot go forward with a winning platform or tactics / strategy ( aka Mr Newt and the 94’ takeover of the House and Senate ) because they haven’t gone beyond anger and get to acceptance, and reinvent themselves to compete in the arena of ideas. The DNC will still continue to loose, and as some have pontificated, we maybe looking at the DNC being out of power for 50 to 60 yrs if they keep this up...
Clearly, they were expecting as a matter of course the same differential expressed as a burst of euphoria. They were sooo looking forward to having their own fantastical way for another four years.
I...*sniff!*...I...*sniff! sniff!*...I should have VOTED!!!
When I need a pick-me-up, I go to YouTube and watch some Election Night videos. I love to laugh at the commentators. They were all so smug and confident going into the election. There was no way that Trump could win! Hillary would win over 300 electoral votes! She might even flip Texas! We were going to have the first woman president! And then the results started pouring in, and they all looked as if they had been hit by a truck. It never gets old!
Election Day in 2016 was the same day as my birthday. I could not have asked for a better gift. It was the best birthday ever!
Marxist scum.
I lubricate my weapons with their tears.
Liberalism is a mental disorder. Michael Savage nailed that one years ago.
