Anyone one of the new Star Wars movie, had it remained under Lucas, would have made that much throughout the course of its run.
$4 billion dollars is chump change for a lucrative movie franchise. Also Lucas threw in Indiana Jones, another lucrative franchise.
If Lucas would have created his own studio it would be worth way more than $4 billion.
Kathleen Kennedy has burned the franchise.
Solo didnt fail on its own merits. It failed because the core fans have given up after the last Jedi.. they have decided they are done.. they wont sit through their franchise being destroyed...
Disney thinks this is just the solo movie. Its not.
Kennedy has chopped the head off the golden goose

“In 2012, Disney bought Lucasfilm for $4.06 billion and took full control of the “Star Wars” empire.
Five years later, the studio has made that amount back from just the ticket sales from the new “Star Wars” films.
With the saga’s lastest movie, “The Last Jedi,” passing $900 million worldwide at the box office on Thursday, the Disney-owned releases of “Star Wars” (”The Force Awakens,” “Rouge One,” “The Last Jedi”) have combined to surpass the $4.06 billion pricetag Disney spent on San Francisco-based company, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Though this doesn’t count the millions spent to make and market the movies, this figure also doesn’t count the money Disney has already made from “Star Wars” merchandising and attractions at its theme parks (both of which are more lucrative than what the studio gets from ticket sales).”
Max Rebo: the musical.
Obi-Wan would have been good....but then again, it’s Disney.
We were told by disney solo was doing just great.
We of course knew they were lying.
You dont like Joy Behar as Jabba the Hut?
I did not. They turned Solo into a pussy chasing dope whose sole motivation is the hypergamous woman who only uses him to get ahead.
Not my idea of a great origins story.
Congratulations to Kathleen Kennedy for killing the Star Wars goose that laid golden eggs.
Just the opinion of an old guy:
The original Star Wars was magical. A couple of the sequels were ok and interesting, and helped further advance film technology.
Later entries, lacking direct linkage to the original captivating cast of characters, left me with little desire to watch. Can’t really say how many of them I saw or didn’t see. Or remembered/forgot.
Saw the last two, first the one with Hammel and Carrie Fisher. Made me mist up a bit at their appearance, but otherwise had little reaction.
Went to see Solo a couple of weeks ago. It bored the snot out of me. I just don’t care anymore...
J.J. Abrams could make Episode IX passable, but Rian Johnson destroyed the mythology, and should never be allowed near any Star Wars movie again.
I propose that Rey turns on the rebels, embraces the dark side of The Force, and becomes Empress of a reborn Empire after annihilating Kylo.
That would be entertaining.
It’s the sequel trilogy that did this to the franchise and those still go on.
You would think that these genius movie makers could figure it out.
It’s highly a generational thing - I remember the first time I saw Star Wars, the audience was at least half kids.
Then to deluge the theaters with Star Wars remakes and Jurassic Park remakes and remakes of remakes it gets pretty darn old pretty darn quick.
Give it (and US!!) a break. Wait a decade to regurgitate this crap already!
They announced his trilogy before The Last Jedi even was out. I seriously doubt they will still go through with it.
Forgot to mention that they announced that trilogy primarily to create buzz for The Last SJW. In other words, they wanted people to think, Damn, this movie must be incredible if theyve already awarded him the next trilogy!
I was looking forward to the back story on Jar Jar Binks, the early years.
The three in white t-shirts are doable.
