Thanks for the pic. The bottom row of that spread appears to be AR uppers, which are not legally “firearms” by themselves. I’d take a few of them off their hands if the price is right.

Pero a que refieres? ISIS o mexicano? O ambos? Tuve muchos estudiantes hispanos in mis clases—it was a very handy language to have when I was teaching.

I think I also see a broom handled Mauser in the bottom center row of handguns.

Most of those rifles are hunting style bolt actions. Not exactly a gangbanger’s arsenal.

For the record, I did a count on the photo and I make it 330 guns.

“If that is the guy’s back deck..”

Probably the police station, there are large plaques on the left wall and some official-looking signs here and there.

I bet you are right. An illegal who has cartel connections somehow.

Oh, my. So sorry about the little boating accident. Good thing this guy didn’t have one, or the lake would have flooded clean out of its banks.

Nice collection. Spotted a No.5 Mk1 Enfield in the front row and a very nice Steyr SSG in the back rows near a M1917 Enfield. Great taste in firearms!

I could be wrong though. The article says this was a convicted felon.

Any illegal here in the US arrested for a felony crime usually gets a “Get out of jail free: card. And maybe (maybe) deported back to ol’ Meh-hee-co.

Until they cross again and commit more crimes.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

Sorry, but I think you have had too much Kool-Aid to drink. If he’s a dangerous person - citizen or otherwise - he needs to be locked up. Conversely, if he’s free he must be no danger to the public and should therefor be free to collect all the guns, ammunition and magazines he wants - just like you should.

The collection pictured is clearly milsurp type stuff. Not anything criminals would typically use. Not many criminal types are going to hump around a 9 pound surplus military rifle.

This guy was 60 years old. We don't have much to go on in this story but it certainly looks like this is typical law enforcement, enforcing laws on someone who is not a threat to anyone. Meanwhile MS-13 will kill 10 people in the time it takes to read this story.

I am aware that the law says a convicted felon can't posses a firearm but that is clearly NOT what the constitution says. Do convicted felons lose other unalienable rights? No they don't. Once someone who commits a crime and has paid their debt to society and are released they should again be constitutionally whole and that includes the right to keep and bear arms.

He’s a convicted felon....how in California could he even have one legally?

Well technically he couldn't but if you read my response I have made the case that banning convicted felons from owning a firearm is unconstitutional. In fact there is simply no question about that.

That being said we still have many unconstitutional laws and in this case he should have failed a NICS check if he was purchasing through a dealer. However he may have been purchasing guns from individuals, even out of state.

Bottom line I see nothing, nada, zero , zilc to convince me this guy was a threat to anyone.

The second Amendment doesn’t have an exception for convicted felons.

made one arrest after getting a tip that a convicted felon was storing an arsenal...

Got your tip right here: every home, in the 'hood and barrio, that houses known 'bangers, has within its confines weapons that are illegal to possess in CA and Los Angeles. Plus most of those places' inhabitants include convicted felons. So, go shake down those domiciles under reasonable suspicion. Set an example for Chicago to do the same.

Didn't think so.
