Ordinary citizens queuing to greet President Hoover at the White House and scenes of arriving dignitaries at the annual New Years reception for the diplomatic corps (top hats and claw hammer coats). The cameraman identifies many of the VIPs (cabinet secretaries and ambassadors).
Love those old cars. People, although they had to bend over a bit, could walk out of the cars they had so much room.
LOL! Amid all those cars, one couple arrived in a horse-drawn carriage.
Most of the cars you could walk into/out of had rear hinged (suicide) doors.

But back on topic: Any American could chat with the President on New Year’s Day. Just show up at the White House. Still, just barely, in living memory.
