Sanctuary from what, Chelsea? The consequences of your own crime?

If you cannot imagine being separated from your kids, DON'T bring them with you when you attempt to enter a country illegally, or better still, stay home with them!

When I was a child, I crossed numerous international borders with my parents.

They always made sure I had the proper paperwork: passports, birth certificate, visas, etc.

If they didn't have all the correct documents, they would have never have taken me along with them, or they would have waited until the paperwork was complete.

My parents would never have risked being separated from their kids at an international border.

Why can't today's parents do that? Don't they care enough about their own kids?
