The meeting was not intended to be a sit down over human rights. It had one goal and it succeeded famously. Nobody in the world is unaware of North Korea’s history. To what benefit would hashing it all over on this occasion have been? When you open a door for someone, you do not stick your foot out and trip them on the way out! The whole truth is that Kim came to the table to negotiate. Nothing like it has happened before. And President Trump made it happen!
