As the U.S. bishops discuss immigration, one bishop says the Church should punish Catholic government officials who enforce the president's immigration policies. Critics have noted no similar calls to punish pro-abortion or pro-gay marriage officials.
The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) began its biannual meeting on Wednesday in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The meeting opened with a special focus on immigration policies, and several bishops condemned the Trump administration's crackdown on illegal immigrants.
Bishop Edward Weisenburger of Tuscon, Arizona even suggested using canon law to punish those responsible for splitting up families. Possessing a degree in canon law, the bishop said, "Even though what I am saying may be risky or dangerous, I think it's important to point out that canonical penalties are there in place to heal first and foremost to heal."
He continued, "And therefore for the salvation of these people's souls, maybe it's time for us to look at canonical penalties."

Idiots. It’s not Trumps immigration policy. It’s the law.

To: massmike
How about we take away your tax-exempt status.
Want to bet that shuts his mouth.

To: massmike
Start the new pedophile investigation wherever he is.

It's because the "Bishop" wants to keep the unaccompanied minor males for himself.

Can you blame this bishop — he wants to earn the right to be first in line to replace the current pontiff.

How about punishing the ‘so-called’ Catholic public officials who support abortion?

That's what I like about these people—punish lawful officers doing their constitutional duty, but turn a blind eye to abortionists and politicians promoting baby killing. When are the going to call out Pelosi and her fellow travelers? Crickets.

It's only fair. The USCCB routinely enforces canonical penalties for Catholics, including
politicians, who publicly favor abortion, sodomy "marriage", contraception, women
 priests, and euthanasia.

    Beat me to it.
I was a practicing Roman Catholic until about 40+ years ago when I could no longer ignore the pedophilia taking place by Priests and even Brothers on young CYO kids of both sexes.
This Bishops is probably just like the ones using my charitable contributions to finance the transferring of Priest from Parish to Parish without any warnings instead of turning them over to the civil authorities for prosecution.

Because the Sacraments aren’t dependent on whether some bishop is or isn’t a mouthbreather numbnut. It’s not that hard.

He is on his way to being the last Pope of a unified Catholic Church.
