For all intents and purposes, Tiger Woods’ U.S. Open is over.
The 14-time major champion continued his implosion at Shinnecock Hills with a second-round 72 on Friday, closing with two consecutive birdies to bring his two-day total to 10-over. Even if the afternoon wave of players shoots high scores, Woods remains on the outside of an early projected cut line around 8-over.

This is the US Open. Every year, the USGA aims for the winning score to be PAR over four days.
The top amateur scored a 92 on Thursday. 92.
I wonder what Palmer, Nicklaus, Jones, etc would have accomplished with the steroids Tigger took or the better equipment golfers have access to today.

If he doesn’t make the cut we’ll probably have a reduction in the Tiger talk the next couple of days, but it won’t stop completely. We’ll have to see replays of the better shots he made and hear how he nearly made the cut and how hard he’s working on his game.

Amateur Will Grimmer shot a 73 yesterday.
Professional Scott Gregory shot a 92, the worst score of the tourney - so far.

The groupies kicked his butt. Hope he had fun. When the tiny little brain settles into your junk, you lose your swing. Then things go bad. Not the first, won’t be the last. You really need a plexiglass belly button when that happens so you can see where you’re going. Now Tiger can’t find his ballz.
Wow, just from the headline one would thing that Tiger was the only golfer that has had a bad tournament.

Other than Hillary Clinton I have never seen the media try harder to drag a dead corpse across the Finish Line more than Tiger Woods. Woods made the front page of the LA Times Sports section twice in the last week or so. Usual stuff, Woods can do it, don’t count him out, come back kid, blah blah blah.

Uhh, sorry yes he is.
Well that’s because all coverage leading up to yesterday has been nothing but Woods.
Woods is still the number 1 draw in the sport.
Tiger Woods is what is saving Golf for the layman on TV. He is an inspiration to me, he does not quit, he is the most natural great player in golf today. I can count on one hand the players I will tune in to watch, but Tiger is one I will always tune in on, and root for. I think he will come back and start winning. Not sure when, but I want to be there when he does.
What is it with the U. S. Open? They go around looking for the biggest sh*thole of a golf course and say “Let’s play it here boys”?
