I have a wonderful Asian DIL and that expression is demeaning.

Don’t be so touchy. I’m sure your dil would be just as wonderful, if she weren’t Asian. My dil is Lebanese. She is awesome!, but I really don’t think it has anything to do with her ethnicity.
Don’t take offense. I like Asians just fine.
