I’m probably in the minority here, but I liked Canadian Bacon. So long as you remember that it is extreme lefties trying to make fun of conservatives and then apply reality, it becomes funny.
A warmongering president (meant to be republican) but who seems much closer to bill clinton starts a war with Canada to detract from a poor US economy to help his reelection.
I know that michael moore is the director, but it is funny as it is so backwards.
The funniest scene was when they get pulled over for having the anti-Canada insults on their truck, but only because they didn’t also write the insults in French, thus violating Canada’s Bi-Lingual law.
The nature of those films you listed reminded me of one.
Bucket of Blood (Dennis Miller killing vampires)
But... Poultrygeist ... Really?
Agree with you that this thread quickly morphed away from cult films. Some folks just don’t pay attention to the topic of a thread.
Sadly, what could have been an interesting thread, went to hell in a handbasket almost immediately.
Cult Films is an interesting topic ( though the movies in the article itself, somewhat strayed off the beaten path as well ), which really could have made for a much better thread.
For example, nowhere was a mention of ERASERHEAD, PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE, THE WIZARD OF OZ, SINGING IN THE RAIN, IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, or KING KONG. Yes, all of those and any more really ARE "CULT FILMS", as well as any, many more.
Yes, a few ( a very few ) posters mentioned some actual "CULT FILMS; however, most others just posted their own favorite movies.
Maybe he’s a moron.
Actually, you’re totally wrong.
Waterson was the best character in that.
If you watch it again, count how many times Mitch touches his face, hair, or nose...
I want the 1970 GTO Judge in that flick. I’ll take his lady too.
Bordello of Blood?
And yet, no one loves it more than B-52 crew members.

Yeah, it’s the same sort of pushback I used to get for asserting media bias and dishonesty back in the 1980s.
Not saying there wasn’t any before the 1980s. It’s just that I didn’t become aware of it until then. Very few of my active-duty comrades in arms were aware of it, or even prepared to look at the issue, back then.
At this late date, there are probably man more B-52 crew members who are aware of Strangelove’s propaganda value than there were back then.
Post 257 has Eraserhead & seriously you seem manic........
If for nothing else seeing Clint Eastwood and Lee Marvin sing in a musical.
But then I love musicals so . . . LOL
Second Hand Lions is an AWESOME movie. I will stop and watch it every time I run across it on the tv.
Still laugh out loud whenever I watch it.
Tremors
Waterboy (I, I appreciate what u showing me)
Forrest Gump
Just saw a film the other night that might fall in this category. “American Made” with Tom Cruise. A really cool movie that did no business at the box office. It will be one that I will definitely see again.
I am keeping an eye out for that one at my library. Kind of amazing that a new Tom Cruise movie came and went without a peep.
Another cult movie favorite is Heathers.
