“That sucks because this Win7 machine is about done. Not sure whats next.”
I left MS when they first FORCED all new computers to be W10.
I purchased a Mac, the latest version of Parallels (the Mac came from B&H Photo and Parallels was free - I would have purchased it) and then bought a Windows 7 System Builder DVD.
Once your Mac is running, insert Parallels and it will guide you through the process (very easy) of loading the Windows OS.
These days the W 8.1 System Builder is less expensive and when it is installing it allows you to have either the ‘tile’ look or the classic look - go classic.
Now you have a Windows computer INSIDE your Mac (make sure you turn off updates after you update to IE 11).
Both OS’s work seemly with each other and it’s easy to copy and paste.
Do Macs cost more? Laptops: YES. If your computer is NOT mobile look at a Mac Mini (starting from $499 - you really should have 8+ GB RAM for Parallels).
Don’t overlook the Apple Refirb Store with as-new warranties (Mac Mini’s from $419):

I have done this with many of my clients and they have very few issues compared to W10 issues.
Good luck, FRiend.
Thank you
