Because Trump has the power position .. and knows it. THEY must convice him. And he ain’t goin’ for their sales pitch.
Abe, (on the other hand), is defending Trump and Trump’s position - but knows all he has to do is be steadfast, not aggressive - just not browbeaten and defeated.
I wholeheartedly agree. The three M's -- Merkel, Macron, and May -- plus their camp followers like Trudeau -- are going to have to give ground, and it will hurt them politically at home. They are screwed, and they know it. My guess is, the phony Brexit era will end as a consequence of President Trump, although I'd be surprised if he actually cares whether the UK leaves the EU.
