There was an article the other day out of the UK concerning self-checkout at grocery stores.

Carrots, lots of carrots, more than the stores had on hand, were being "sold" at the self-checkouts...

I think the produce type was entered by the "customer". So what it if was 10 lbs of langostines, a rack of lamb, or whatever?

sounds like there are issues with self checkout, as people try to cheat.

I can imagine someone with a full shopping cart, and they “forget” to scan a few items.
