Ralph Peters is a retired non-combat Lt. Col, which to those of us who served, commissioned or non-commissioned, know idiots like him are a dime a dozen and typically can’t wipe their asses without instruction or permission. How this moron was ever referred to as a military intelligence expert is beyond me.
I remember when LTC Ralph Peters was assigned to US Army Intelligence and Threat Analysis Center around 1991-92. He was assigned to the Soviet-Warsaw Pact Division as an intelligence analysis but was snapped up by the G-2 (aka Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence) in the Pentagon to be in its intelligence analysis section, DAMI-FIO. He was well known within the Army’s Military Intelligence community as a Foreign Area Officer specializing in the Soviet Union’s military. I only met him briefly during the week he actually was at ITAC.
The LTC Peters from then is totally different from the man I’ve seen on TV the last decade.
