Funny how they eroded perfectly flat before the sandstone was deposited. Go anywhere in the world and you see flat layers, folded or not.

Whatever force folded those layers also reflattened them and the sandstone layer was deposited before any meaningful erosion could occur.

That is a function of gradient. Erosion happens when you have a gradient. Deposition happens when the the gradient drops below what the mechanism can carry. So deposition tends to happen in already flat areas or into bodies of water.

Whatever force folded those layers also reflattened them and the sandstone layer was deposited before any meaningful erosion could occur.

You can't push a rope. And that is what you are trying here geologically.
