As I pointed out before, inbreeding problems are unlikely in these mice. They are bred and sold commercially; the animal supply companies attempt to keep the animals as genetically similar as possible. On top of that, mouse mothers tend to cannibalize pups that they sense are defective. So they would remove any mutants. (This is a challenge for researchers who want to introduce specific genetic mutations for the purpose of studying the affected gene function.)
So, what the mouse experiments really demonstrate is behavior. As you pointed out, mating behavior is affected. So is parenting behavior. In fact, every aspect of behavior was affected.
Since the experiment was repeated several times in rats and mice with similar result, it is safe to say that the outcome of the experiment discussed in tbe video was not a fluke.
I can see many parallels to human society in these experiments. The mice were too crowded to develop normal social relationships, so their social interactions became aberrant. Where do we see the worst social behavior today? It’s concentrated in the cities. And so forth.
One of these days, I want to further explore the implications of the rodent utopia experiments and what they mean for human society. For example, I can’t help but notice the social decay which seems to have accelerated under Obama. Maybe Obama was not the cause of the widespread sexual deviancy that was characteristic of his administration. Maybe he was the symptom of a profoundly ill society. I long wondered what was going on with the left, which dominates in cities, and learning about the “utopia” experiments told me a lot.
