At first I thought this was pretty dumb but there are many killers who have been rejected by their love interest(The rich kid in California, the recent Texas shooting and alot of foreignors who obsesssed on porno and probally got a warped sense that all American women are 'easy' and after a few gibberish liner liners are ready to do "anything')

Add in a few with psychological problems, society's message that "You deserve what your heart deserves" and easy access to weapons and viola! Mass killers!
