I've never been to the Buckhorn Tavern, but I had a green chile burger at the Owl Cafe, about two-and-a-half blocks to the east, and it was the best I've ever eaten. The next best was at Captain Jack's Stronhold in Tule Lake, Calif.

Yeah, the Owl and Buckhorn compete for New Mexico burger honors.

It's my personal taste, but of all the Mexican cuisines in the US I like the New Mexico style the best. Have to visit Northern New Mexico every now and then to eat my fill. Yum!

I’ve been to Captain Jack’s Stronghold and Tule Lake, CA.

I am impressed that another FReeper has been there, as there is no there there, but it is a stunningly beautiful place.

It was freezing in July, I remember, and the wind did not stop. Of course, once you got down into the caves, wind is not an issue.
