Last week I read where there were some folks a bit worried about debris covering up and blocking steam vents in Hawaii. This would not cause a massive eruption but it could potentially hurl some very large volcanic rocks a good distance.

Keep in mind, I have an elementary knowledge of volcanoes and I don't claim to be an expert of any sort.

That is still far less dangerous than a pyroclastic flow. Think Vesuvius and Mt. St. Helens.
